The Marwees Traverse was on top of my wish list for years and finally I did it! 🙂 For the last years I was afraid to do this hike alone because it is marked in blue which means that it is more difficult than an ordinary hiking path.

I started in Wasserauen and went up to Bogarten. From there the path becomes smaller and steep and very exposed. You walk on the side of the Marwees and later on the grassy ridge. The view all around is really amazing! I was the only person there during this time and I could enjoy every meter of it! The Grassy Marwees Traverse is one of the best tours in the Alpstein massive and I will definitely do it again! 🙂

Today was the perfect autumn day! 🙂 I started in Brülisau and walked up to the Hoher Kasten. From there the view to the Rhine valley was absolutely amazing! Then I walked below the ridge via Staubern to Saxer Lücke where I descended to Bollenwees. Just before arriving at Saxer Lücke the view down to the Fählensee was very beautiful and full of autumn colours 🙂 I continued via Bogarten to Wasserauen. When I stayed at Bogarten for a short break I was envious of the people coming down from Marwees. The traverse of the Marwees is almost on top of my wish list for next year 😉

Here are some impressions from my hike on October 3rd which is a public holiday in Germany. The weather forecast said a mix of clouds and sunshine, but more or less it rained the whole day 😛 The hike took me from Wasserauen via Hüttentobel and Bogartenlücke to Bollenwees. Luckily it was still open and so I enjoyed a hot peppermint tea in front of the fireplace. Then I walked up to Staubern and shortly before the Hoher Kasten I took the path down to Brülisau. Even if the weather was quite bad I enjoyed the hike and the nature and being completely alone most of the time.
