About Lisa

Hi, I am Lisa! I love being outside! In the summer I like to spend most of my time hiking in the Alps or cycling. In the winter the best place for me are the Canary Islands with their amazing landscape and perfect climate.

Today was the perfect autumn day! 🙂 I started in Brülisau and walked up to the Hoher Kasten. From there the view to the Rhine valley was absolutely amazing! Then I walked below the ridge via Staubern to Saxer Lücke where I descended to Bollenwees. Just before arriving at Saxer Lücke the view down to the Fählensee was very beautiful and full of autumn colours 🙂 I continued via Bogarten to Wasserauen. When I stayed at Bogarten for a short break I was envious of the people coming down from Marwees. The traverse of the Marwees is almost on top of my wish list for next year 😉

Here are some impressions from my hike on October 3rd which is a public holiday in Germany. The weather forecast said a mix of clouds and sunshine, but more or less it rained the whole day 😛 The hike took me from Wasserauen via Hüttentobel and Bogartenlücke to Bollenwees. Luckily it was still open and so I enjoyed a hot peppermint tea in front of the fireplace. Then I walked up to Staubern and shortly before the Hoher Kasten I took the path down to Brülisau. Even if the weather was quite bad I enjoyed the hike and the nature and being completely alone most of the time.

Another weekend full of sunshine! So we decide to take the train to Kandersteg. We stay at the Kanderhuette which is great, because it is very cheap and still a cosy place and it also includes a kitchen. The next morning we walk up to the Oeschinensee. This lake is super beautiful! 🙂 We are very early and only a few other people are there. We take a long break here before we continue hiking up to the Bluemlisalphuette. From the trail we have a good view of the glacier (or at least what is left of it) and for a few hundred meters the trail also goes along the moraine. After a steep ascent we reach the Hohtuerli. From here it is only another 10 minutes to the hut.

The Bluemlisalphuette is a very nice place! We stay there for almost two hours and enjoy the sunshine and the perfect view to the Bluemlisalp! Tonight is a concert at the hut and the helicopter is flying in the instruments! When all instruments and musicians are there they start to play music! This is fantastic! On the way back we walk over the Heuberg which offers a great view down to the Oeschinensee. This was definitely again one of the best hiking days this year! 🙂

Today the weather forecast said sunshine until about noon and then thunderstorms.. So we think going the Tegelbergsteig and Fingersteig via ferratas is a good option, because you can do them in only half a day. We arrive at the car park of the Tegelbergbahn at about 8am. And right in front of us are already very big clouds. It looks like a thunderstorm would build up soon. So we decide not to do the via ferratas. Instead we walk to the Neuschwanstein Castle which is directly next to the Tegelberg.

Because it is still quite early when we arrive at the castle there are not so many people around. We walk around and take some photos and luckily we are also able to walk on the MarienbrĂźcke (it was closed for construction until two weeks ago).

Then we meet a local who gives us the advice to walk along the trail that starts right after the bridge and goes up to the Tegelberg. On this trail after about 30 minutes we arrive at a nice view point. There we have a picknick before going back down.

Today we slept in our tent in Tannheim. After leaving the tent in the morning we walk up to the Vilsalpsee. Last time when we were here everything was covered in clouds. Today is completely different, not a single cloud is on the sky and the lake  below the Gaishorn looks really beautiful.

From here a nice trail leads up to the Gaiseck. Unfortunately it is hard to really enjoy the trail because today is the hottest day of the year! It is so unbelievable hot and we drink a lot of our water on the way up. On Gaiseck we decide to try the trail to Rauhorn, but we turn around shortly before the summit. There is some climbing (II) required and we do not feel so good because of the heat. So instead we walk up the Gaishorn which is also a nice summit 🙂 Here we stay for a long time before going back down.

We would like to continue to the Schrecksee, but our water is already almost empty and so we walk down to the Vilsaple, have a drink and go back to the camping space 🙂 All in all a nice summit, but it was far too hot for hiking today 😮
