Today the weather was perfect for cycling! We started at half past six in the morning at home where the sun was already shining. From Böblingen we cycled to Tübingen through the Schönbuch forest. In the forest the sun vanished quickly and it was very foggy. After that part all clothes were wet and we were freezing! Luckily after about one hour the sun came back and we continued cycling from Reutlingen up the Swabian Alb to Sigmaringen. Here strong wind from the front slowed us down - and it should continue like that the rest of the day. From Sigmaringen the cycling path goes along the river Donau for some time before leading to Pfullendorf. After Pfullendorf we drove in the direction of Überlingen with loots of wind! In Überlingen we reach the lake! What a great view after all the cycling! The legs hurt very much already. Now only 15 kilometres are left until Meersburg. In Meersburg we take the ferry to Konstanz. Arriving in Konstanz Staad there are six kilometres left to the city center. Finally after 170 kilometres and 11 hours in total we reach our final destination! In the evening we enjoy pizza and the next day we spent relaxing at the lake in the sunshine!

This year we spent some days again at the Lake Garda in Torbole. We stayed in a really good sports hotel - Aktivhotel Santalucia.

On the first day we rented mountain bikes. From Riva we cycled along the old road to Pregasina. This road is really worth walking along or cycling. Many people are cycling this way but most of them go directly to Lago di Ledro. We cycle to Pregasina first. Until then the road is paved and cycling is easy. After that the road becomes a path which goes through a forest. Many times we have to get off and push the bike. From Bocca Larici (about 900m high) you have an amazing view down on the lake. From there we continue up to Passo Rocchetta. There we have reached the highest point and can now enjoy some cycling on almost the same level before the descend. Actually we wanted to continue a bit further and then go down to Lago di Ledro. But because of the weather forecast and the clouds we decide to skip the last part and go down to Biacesa. This way down is very steep and we are lucky that the rain did not yet start because otherwise it might be slippery. From Biacesa it is not far back to Riva and Torbole. All in all a really nice bike tour, we will definitely do this again.

On a hot sunny Sunday we decided to cycle to Stuttgart airport. There is a very cool place right in front of the runway (see google maps) where the airplanes come in for landing and leave for take off - right over your heads. This is definitely nothing for everyday but worth to see once 🙂 The videos have been recorded with a Fujifilm XT-1 camera. Post processing was done with openshot.
